St. John Independence Day Celebration

Thousands of residents are expected to gather on the grounds of St. Peter’s Church and the St. John the Baptist Church in Edgard to commemorate Independence Day with fireworks, food, fun and music on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2017. The event will be filmed on the East and West banks of the parish and broadcasted live on the Government Access Channel and the Parish website. Fireworks show and music will start at 9pm.

Festivities included raising the U.S. flag, a balloon release, children’s activities, food, and music.   In Edgard, St. John the Baptist Parish Catholic Church will hold its annual fundraiser featuring local favorites such as jambalaya, chicken wings and sweets.  Interviews with Parish Officials, members of the St. John Theatre, Festival Queens, and community leaders will be conducted throughout the evening.
